Ms. Alva Stuart provided a competent and courteous service during the time of our recent bereavement. She carefully explained the cremation process and kept us updated every step of the way. Although it was a hectic time, since NY was at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic; Ms. Stuart was patient and professional when dealing with our family. She collected our deceased loved one from the hospital facility, sent identifying photos and delivered the deceased to the crematorium upon our confirmation. When the cremation process was completed, she picked up the cremains and delivered them to us. Ms. Stuart’s professionalism made the entire ordeal so much easier, especially since we could not personally be there due to the Covid-19 regulations. She was communicative and responsive to all our concerns. Thanks again Ms. Stuart for the excellent service you provided during the time of our grief. We appreciate the gentleness and care with which you handled our dear mother’s and grandmother’s final arrangements. We are forever grateful to you. Thanks again for being the hands that helped deliver her to her final resting place!

I had the privilege of using Alva Stuart Services during a very difficult time in my life. The death of my husband in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic was a draining, life-changing experience. I must say she is a professional at what she does! She was very supportive and timely; Alva always got things done when she said she would or before. Since 2015, Ms. Alva Stuart and I have not only been friends and co-laborers, but we have been inspirational buddies to each other.

We met at a teachers' training program and since then we are inseparable. From day one, I have admired Ms. Stuart for her intelligence and the way she carried herself. She is and has always kept appearance in a ladylike manner. Always well dressed and put together. Her professionalism has extended from her being in the classroom to becoming her own boss as a licensed mortician.

With my experience laboring alongside Ms. Stuart as her Chaplain comforting families, I have been honored to experience her passionate interaction with families, who have entrusted her with their loved ones. Ms. Stuart has that serene touch that would make any family be consoled just by her very presence. As I conclude, I will reiterate what Ms. Stuart's educational supervisor said to her upon hire, "You are a breath of fresh air."

We can all agree that 2020 has been a very challenging year. When my father passed away at the height of the pandemic it was very difficult and stressful time to find anybody to carry out my wishes for my father's transition.My aunt then referred me to Alva stuart and she has really came to the recuse a in big way! She has made it very possible to get the closure that me and family needed with the unexpected passing of my father. Thanks Mrs. Stuart for your tremendous help in our immediate time of need.

My brother died at 3am pm November 22nd, 2019. It broke my family, we were lost, it was so sudden. A shock. He was in New York, most of the family were in Barbados, a sister in St. Eustacious, myself in Bermuda.

We needed help, someone who could plan, organize, and initiate his funeral service tailored to reflect him and the life he lived since he had migrated to NY for more than 20 years.

I was the link between his doctors and the rest of the family, after 2 days in ICU the doctor told me he would not make it, so I asked a relative in NY to send me a list of funeral directors to choose from. Alva Stuart (Licensed Funeral Director) arrived first. I remember looking at the photograph a few times, what I saw was a kind face, a warm person, who looked professional in that picture. Which gave a sense of comfort, welcomed in a time of despair and disbelief.

I made contact with Alva the day he died. She took control immediately, offered her condolences, and later that day contacted me and stated "Horace is safely with us". The sincerity, warmth, compassion and professionalism continued from our initial contact, to the day of the funeral service and after.

I remember any hour of the night I had a query. Sometimes things were already answered, but Ms. Stuart was very gentle, patient and always available to us.

I had ask Alva to take a picture of our family member, he had looked so different in that picture, it was clear to us that they would be no viewing.

Finally the day came, we were so impressed, Ms. Stuart did a fantastic job, he looked like the brother/son we knew. We were surprised the way Alva went above and beyond with the colour scheme, a huge canvas with our loved one photo, including microphones because he loved karaoke, video presentations of his life. December 9th, will always be in our hearts, his funeral service was a replica of his life, and we appreciate Alva's outstanding work.

Since this Alva has become family. We keep in contact, the friendship has blossomed.

Alva, you are a professional within your right. My family and I appreciate you as a person and the tireless job you do. I am happy to have you as my friend. And I want the very best for you. Therefore the sky is your limit. Wishing you every success
